A musician turned photographer turned concert lighting designer, GILLTRON presents ANIMUS, his debut festival installation in Brisbane. Pulsating and psychedelic waves of colour are conjured from powerful moving lights, transforming the airspace within The Triffid into a spectral field of energy. Featuring a combination of stand-alone projections alongside collaborations with Darkworld’s resident sound and dance artists, many luxurious treats for the retinas await those who worship at the altar of the discharge lamp.

GILLTRON firmly believes in the evocative power of pure light, and its capacity to allow viewers to create their own interpretations of reality. In a world so dominated by the now-ubiquitous video display and its millions of pixels, a return to the primal force of light serves as an important reminder of our origin among the stars and the collective imagination of the human spirit.
